Some people have too much time on their hands....
Plastic crystals were mixed in with the paint. The police in china impounded the car.

That M3 was designed by Jeff Koons and is one of the BMW Art Cars. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_Art_Car

The painted Z4 M Coupe is hand painted by the owner. Very well known member of various Z4 and BMW forums in the USA. It's supercharged, among other things and regularly tracked. http://www.myartcar.com/
 
I like the green one from Japan. But would be worried as to how they pushed the wheels out that far. As to do it properly would involve a complete redesign of the chassis. If done with spacers and such. I would be very afraid of some kind of failure from all that torque on the hub. After all, There is a reason one uses a longer spanner to BREAK loose a stubborn nut.

When I look at that sparkly Zed. The first thing that comes to mind is Louie Spence.

I love that M3 art car.
 
And with all that tin on top. The coupes are about the same weight as those stone ones. :poke:

I think I'd still be tempted to have it resprayed... each to their own though!
