Unused engine bay bracket, Whats it for?

Water, air... Same difference :D

Got completely messed up actually - Stu and I did not know what it was, srhutch told me it was the secondary air pump (not water). Bit of a brain wobble last night :oops:
 
Apologies, should have also picked it up - I missed the water and just saw pump...(must be a man thing ;) )

Am interested if it is fitted to US spec 3.0 cars though....?

Yes, on M54s. The strange thing is the bracket remains though the pump is removed on N52s, I guess because S54s are still installed post-facelift and they use it just as the M54 does.

Emission control - air pump is also required on Canadian vehicles.
