Unrecognised phonebook entries

Hi

Wonder if anyone can help. I've tried the free manual by the way... :-) but this might be pilot error on my part.

Car is a 2011 2.3i, and it has standard so-called 'professional' audio with Bluetooth. No Nav or iDrive. Have paired my phone successfully with car and can make and receive calls normally. All works fine, so no BT problems AFAIK.

Issue is that in PHONE mode, the 'DIR' function (ie phone directory) brings up hundreds of contacts that I don't recognise. Like they may have belonged to the previous owner or something. If I unpair the phone or simply leave it out of range, there are no entries displayed. Reconnecting the phone shows the same entries.

Maybe I could reset the list to factory default and force the car to reload it from my phone, but no idea how.

ideas / pointers welcome. Thank you

Yes, mine has that too - but there are no previous phones. Only mine shown, and trying the BT config you get the same single phone... :-(

You don't have numbers stored on your sim and your phone do you = might be worth checking that too !

Not knowingly... the SIM is never used for contacts (well, not on purpose) but I'll try and check that out too.

Right, have solved this. Turns out if was the settings on the phone syncing all my Facebook and LinkedIn contacts as well as the people I actually want to phone, so there was >1500 of them, all firstname/lastname and no company name showing ... didn't recognise most of them!

Changed settings and it's now behaving.
