Hello all,
I have been trying to get my 2004 Z4 3.0 to sound a bit more like a sports car (in my opinion the stock car sounds quite boring). I have recently had the secondary cats cut out and replaced with straight pipes which has made a bit of a difference, mainly louder when you put your foot down but still doesn't sound very exciting.
I have considered doing a backbox delete/straight pipes but I couldnt put up with the drone on motorways etc.
My question is that if I replace the backbox with a cheap universal one from eBay (just a hollow backbox with nothing inside/no insulation or anything), would I still get the droning? Is there much difference between fitting this and just deleting the stock backbox?
I know many will say to buy a performance backbox but to be honest, £600 for a Remus or similar is too much for me! Plus fitting!
Many thanks for your help.
