I’ve gone on their site and had a look. Does everything come with it at that price? Screen/housing etc? It looks like it just hooks up to the existing unit and replaces the cubby hole if I’m reading it correctly? If it does MFSW etc should all still work. I was just ready to buy a new stereo Supplied and fitted by Halfords but would prefer this if it’s plug and play and easy enough to fit and retains existing head unit
 
as they say on their web site, it is DIY: you need to remove the trim up to the display to connect their device, but there are very good videos out there, search this forum for AnubisZed's posts

In the pictures it shows the original BMW screen in place. It also mentions screen mirroring, so theoretically you would get an android/IOS display depending on which phone you use I am guessing.
If it is just a box and software it is extremely expensive.
 
I guess you already need iDrive system fitted looking at images 1 & 2, looks very similar to this : https://www.joyeauto.com/product/bmw-z4-e89-2009-2012my-cic-wifi-wireless-apple-carplay-retrofit-with-reverse-camera/
 
I think it says it connects to the car's standard idrive and then you run it off the aux setting in idrive. It is just a box and software you are getting for that price. The reverse camera is not even included.

they refer to one different type of pinout on E90 and E89, but it works fine, just follow my guide how to make the E89 socket work

Unique's solution seems to take care of the non-standard screen ratio, which Car Solutions' doesn't - it is not that bad though

I'm not able to try Android auto, not available for my mobile
