I went to Denmark a couple of weeks ago, and whilst waiting for my pizza to be delivered I picked up the car sales mag that was on the table in there. Yikes. Even with my rudimentary currency exchange method I knew they were being fleeced good and proper.
Now, talking to the guys I was working with, there is a 180% import tax on cars. So that explains it. A bit. But not this much.
Ok, carbon leather, nav, butt warmers, cup holders, cruise, its pretty stacked in there. But seriously
Two screen grabs now to show you what I mean....

yep, that seems about right. i went to denmark about 6 years ago. everything was twice the price it was in the uk including taxi fares but then again its all relative to what they earn over there

Not to mention they have truly got free health care, including full dental cover and don't pay for schools etc.

It probably is not a lot more expensive when you take the costs of all of that into account.

I spent about 2 years on and off there (Copenhagen).

Surly that's about 3 times as much as you'd pay for a similar car in the UK ? And even then, that would be and the top end. I bet they're properly rare over there...

From What I saw, which was an hour's drive from an airport through a large town to a small town, and back, everyone drives around in five year old small cars. Its like a small town oop north really.
