Unhappy with dealer.

Glad you have sorted this. As an aside a friend of mine with a diesel VW received the recall notice for his car for the 'emissions fix'. He went into the main dealership and after much haggling they conned him into buying a new car on the basis that even with the fix no one would want to be driving around in a car with such a stigma attached to it. My view of dealerships is unprintable.

And it's broken! Drove through a small pothole, nothing major, both lights drop straight to the ground then slowly back up over the next mile, now they are pointing too high and everyone is flashing me.

:x I'm done with it now.

good grief... what a shambles, sorry you have had to put up with this awful service, the dealer obviously has no clue whats going on, hope you find a suitable replacement

Do the lights behave normally to start with, for example on first start mine rise up and then lower to normal position.
Then when I accelerate hard and the front of the car rises, the light beams lower slightly and go back to the level position at steady speed.

Yes they have experienced the problem.

I have it in writing that they will refund me if thats what I want and have until lunchtime tomorrow to decide.

I have found a few alternative z4's but am worried about travelling halfway across the country and being unlucky again.

I did drive a Mini JCW today and came away very impressed, I have no particular need for a specific type of car but it has to stir my soul whatever it is. :D

I think u would be best to get into another z- either by getting them to transport a auc in or by getting a refund and going private. U would be really unfortunate to be that unlucky twice!

you do have to wonder just how problematic this car actually is and how much is down to a useless dealer/mechanic.
we will never know but it would have been interesting to see if it had of been a car you had owned a while and you took it to a bmw specialist or even a competent indy would they have sorted it easily or also struggled

Get rid. I have a 3 strikes rule with a new car and you are already on more than that. Every time you have a tiny problem, this is going to send you up the wall.

I would take a full refund and start again. Patience could actually save you some serious money.

the problem with this is the car itself is still really on 1 strike, ok 2 with the water leak issue. The real problem is the idiots at the dealer who cant fix things.
do agree though after this experience i would never go there again and if the car developed another fault the op would go into meltdown!

I thought there was a fault with the suspension too. One thing is for certain, I doubt I will be getting an E89 anytime soon.

oh yes forgot about that one! three strikes it is then!!!

Ok, the car has gone back but I'm still trying to negotiate a replacement vehicle with them.

They have lent me a two week old mini hatchback JCW and wow, it's a very impressive car!

You have a lot more tolerance with that dealer than I would have. While they have loaned you a nice car, they still have your money.
I would be pressing for my money and looking elsewhere for a car ,my choice and in my time so I'm not under any pressure.

Any update on this? I'm interested as I also just rejected my first E89 and am now wondering whether it's worth scouring the country for another.
