That metal panel is the same as E46, if it helps find more guides.

There's 8 16mm bolts for that metal panel, and three or four screws for the plastic one at the front. All accessible from the underneath, along the join between the metal and plastic panel

That’s the metal reinforcement panel. Undertray is the plastic panel at the front. Removal as per above transactions. The 16mm bolts are in at funny angles, so fiddly to get at unless you have a good line of sight. You will also need an extension bar as they are quite deeply recessed.

Don’t drive with the reinforcement plate removed.

These are also meant to be single use bolts. I have a feeling most garages reuse them, I certainly had one fall out.

I want to take mine off for cleaning so now youve said that ill get some in

Looks like your fastening points at the front of the tray are damaged like mine were https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2116410#p2116410
Ended up purchasing a new undertray and these as replacement fixings https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305766560298
It's a very easy job once you get the front up.
