Undertray Attachment Issue

Hi all,

I'm after a little bit of advice - I was recently forced off the road by an oncoming van who refused to slow down on a single track road on my way to work and have been slowly sorting out the little issues that arose as a result. The last of which was to understand why my undertray is hanging down from two of the front left fixing points. It turns out that the part the undertray bolts screw into (on the vehicle, not on the undertray) have snapped and as a result I can't re-attach it fully!

I'm struggling to find the part I need to replace which I'm assuming is one large part that the whole undertray fixes to which houses all of the captive nuts for the fixings to screw into, but don't know where to begin searching or what to search for!

Any help you can give would be great!

Thanks in advance,

Chris

The under tray slots into a groove on the bottom of the bumper. The captive nuts are attached to the tray.
The tray is held in place by the screws that go through bumper and into the tray.
You should be able to fabricate a bracket to hold the tray in place.

Thanks for the tip bud :) It's the one on the side of the undertray I've got the issues on (I didn't make it that clear, sorry!), I'm happy to fabricate a bracket but would prefer to replace the damaged parts if possible!

All of the parts are avaliable from bmw. I've just done exatly the same thing, but they are not cheap. I had a corner splash guard and a few clips etc and it cost me £165 :o

I have the exploded diagram, but still havent worked out how to put picturs up on here lol message me your email address and i'll email it to you if you like

Thanks for the pictures Dolly, but they didn't quite cover what I was after! The bits that have broken are where the two undone fixings attach the undertray to they car:
