Under sealing

Hello , quick one , my baby is a 54 player , never out on gritted roads but given the age should I be considering having it sealed on the underside ?
Cheers

Well, it wouldn't do it any harm, that's for sure. I'm planning to lanoguard the underside of mine this winter, even though I dont take it out in the nasty weather.

Definately worth doing. Did my E85 last summer with a Lanoguard kit. Has lasted really well. Worth popping off the plastic side skirts so to can spray in to the cills. Will need to clear out the cill drain holes afterwards. There are some black closed gromits on the cill, mine disintegrated when removed to spray in the cills. Worth buying a pack of grommets before you start. I just bought a generic pack of 50 grommets for £5. Can check the size if it would help.

Another vote for Lanoguard - its like putting a clear wax jacket on and very easy to do. Avoid waxoyl and similar as messy, horrible and hides any corrosion from view. Used Lanoguard on my old Land Rover for a number of years and works very well.

Haha I replied to the wrong thread 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
Replied to a 2021 post after reading yours lol what a moron anyway here:

I got my 2007 E86 60k miles up on a ramp a few months ago and did a full treatment underneath.
Remove the trays and washed it all first.
Let it dry then painted on Kurust to any problem areas (mine was practically none but I went over absolutely any surface rust I could see.
Then let it turn black or dry, then lanoguard spray it all and stuff the lanoguard grease in the arch lips and anywhere else you want.
Pretty easy job.
Plus it's clear so you can see any problem areas later.
If I was selling this in the future there's no worry about not seeing what's underneath the protection because it's all visible.
Plus there's no rust anyway so I'm quite lucky with this car but I'll just jack it up every year and refresh.

I don't drive it in the wet or winter and the previous owners were just at anal about it (clearly) think one of them actually stores it in a car storage hanger every winter lol.
Lanoguard though is great I've used it on 5 of my cars now.
