Hi,

Does anyone else find the angular bit on the drivers door cause discomfort to the outside part fo their right knee? This is the one thing that I really don't like on the Z!

Oh, mines a RHD, obviously...

Any tips on getting a more comfortable seating position? I have tried all sorts of positions!!!!

TIA

I'm 6' 3" and have never had a problem with it.

Try keeping your right foot pressed down an the accelerator a bit more, that should help

Are you driving at the time this happens?
I can't see any way to get my right knee to touch anything uncomfortable.

LOL... I'm 5'11" and my legs are straight! When cruising, the outside of my right knee rests on the corner of the door card moulding, just underneath the mirror controls. If I move the seat back a bit my knee drops but then whilst my right foot os ok for the go pedal, my left foot feels a little too far away from the clutch... If I raise the front of the seat / move it closer / raise the seat base then my left knee fould the underside of the dash!

I tend to drive with my toes on the accelerator rather than having my foot flat on it - is this how y'all drive?

Foot should be on the pedal. There should be a slight bend in the knees even when clutch is fully depressed.

As an initial set up I have used this idea. Set the wheel hight to what's comfortable. Sit in the seat, the backrest up as much as you can and still be comfortable. Then outstretch one arm, palm down, and your wrist should rest on the top of the steering wheel. :driving:

Ah so you are adopting the male pron star seating position with legs 90 degrees apart..

Seriously though it sounds like you shoudl be sat further back. Picking up from Smokin and Breaker I'd suggest try this.

Set the seat back/forth until you can comfortably reach the pedals with accelerator foot flat on the pedal, and depress the cluch with a slight bend still left in the knee. Adjust the seat up or down and squab so it does not interfere with your thigh but is supportive. Raise the back of the seat until reclined slightly back from vertical (if reclined like this shock goes into the seat not down your spine) and then with shoulders back in the seat move the wheel in/out and up/down until you can reach the top of the wheel with your wrists and the wheel does not touch your legs. Should be spot on then with a bit of minor adjustment.

Sounds like M school talk to me...

I *really* gotta do that again! I'm saving up for a two day! :driving:

Its a blast ain't it?

Blast isn't the name for it. Next time I'm winning more rat races and I'm going sub 26.5 on the timed short course (included slalom and stop box). :driving:
