Ultimate Driving Machine vs Most Iconic Sports Car?

One of the last few track days left in the year. This time ran with the Porsche club, slowest drivers were probably the Evo, MCS, and a Mustang. Had fun chasing down old and new 911's. Folks are always surprised when they ask what's under the hood and I tell them 3 liter inline 6... no turbo, no s54.

Raw video (no timing data) here:

But my best lap with data here, hoping to break 1:40 next time...

Nice

There is a sound about 1:14 ish, is it the 911 crunching through a gear

Ha, I believe it's his tires screeching

Wow !! An American using a proper gearbox :poke:

Auto's have a place... mainly for a commute or perhaps competition racing where millions of dollars in endorsements are on the line. But for everyone else in any other circumstance, back roads or on the track - nothing will replicate the connected feeling of a manual. And nothing feels better than doing the perfect heel toe right before a turn!

Cool vids :)

Don't have the kahunas to take mine on the track...

ha, but that's where these cars were meant to be! honestly everyday driving has become so mundane that i rarely speed. i have 100x more appreciation for my car after taking her out on the track and driving it to its full potential.

awesome vids. what were the porches best times, any idea?

Hard to say but I did talk to one fella because he asked me to help him setup his lap timer as well (we're both using the same iPhone app). He was driving an 09 Carrera S with Toyo R888's and he was posting similar numbers around the 1:40. The only cars faster than us were a GT-R and GT2.
