Following on from the debate as to the validty of varioous news resources here's an attempt at some structured reporting on various aspects of how things lead up to the conflict and and some structured reviews on the situation as it develops..if you see something appropriate please post it up here.

Even as a Ukrainian descendant this Radio 4 30 minute concise history of how Ukraine came to being and how it relates to Putin's view of it by some leading academics makes interesting listening..

Last nights BBC4 analysis into Putin and how he got here and what a quite unpleasant chap he is makes interesting viewing if you have 60 minutes of time.

I listened / watched both of them…the podcast was very educational, the Putin one although it obviously covered old history was a good insight…the interviews with the Georgian leader was illuminating…

You should add John Simpson's Unspun World..watched it last night...actually very encouraging as far as how its going to play out.

I get pissed of with the BBC newsreel with Fergal Keen, Lyse Doucet and Orla Guerin...much as they are great journalists the endless cringing of hands and concern is almost the kiss of doom.

Newsnight is pretty good and John Simpson's program was very interesting.

BBC Ukrainecast was very interesting with Rory Stewart emphatically calling for total embargo on Russian hydro carbons..

John Simpson is one of the old guard of BBC journalists…he’s been on the money on many world situations…

Mark Urban is another journalist with a good insight, but seems to be a little timid on expressing opinions unlike John.

An encouraging point of view for you and those who believe Putin is the aggressor.

Such a pity that the Ukrainians have had to go through the this to wake up the West.

This is a US based set of analysts who focus on analysing conflicts..

Detailed analysis and interpretation of the conflict without the emotion.

Arguably western biased.

However probably one of the better and more detailed sets of resources as to what’s going on in the conflict.

I’ve followed it for the last few weeks and recommend it for those who want a less heavily edited / censured view of the broader struggle.

I saw that a couple of weeks ago…I’m sure some will suggest it’s the work of a western conspiracy :tumbleweed: :fuelfire:

I wonder what’s going to happen next…

Much as I detest Boris, his interview where he stated that the west’s intentions were to make Ukraine an indigestible porcupine was an interesting thought..
