UK -Z4 3.0 Coupe recommended oil

Hi,
I recently picked up my car (2006 Sport Coupe with 2500 miles), and have not seen the recommended oil mentioned in any of the documentation. The manual has a page where someone is supposed to write down the oil grade but this wasn`t done. So, what is the recommended oil for this car? Is it the usual long life 0w30 Castol SLX oil I`ve been using in my COmpact diesel?

I believe BMW use the same oil for both but anything of equal or better quality is fine such as Mobil 1 or Castrol Edge. I change my oil quite regularily so I've just been using a fully synthetic Halfords oil. It specifies that it exceeds BMW long life recommendations. Good enough for me! :wink:

as stated mobil 1 or castrol slx 0-30 is fine although in most if not all dealers the recommended is castrol and this is what we are supplied with to use.

Stick with OE BMW packaged Castrol - over here it's typically 5-30.

Darren M, I just used to get oil from the dealer, about £13 for a litre IIRC

But for the amount you use, I think I used under 2 litres in 18 months - so not bad really, and at least you know you're using the right stuff.
