Hi

My car is still under warranty and since having the car for around 6 weeks now, im starting to notice a few niggles and was wondering if they were covered under warranty.

They are:

-Corrosion on rear 2 alloys
-Rattle from passenger rear speaker
-Rattle at speed from drivers window
-Knock from middle of car at intermitant invervals when going over any types of bumps
-Excess road noise/hiss from passenger side rear near top of soft top
-Auto Recirculation doesnt appear to work as the book says - i.e. bad smells outside still come into the car even if this is on

Also - what else have you guys had done under your warranty - at zero cost to you? I want to take full advantage

Thanks
Jamie

Everything that is wrong to get it to OEM condition aside consumables will be covered by the warranty so all rattles, faults, etc. will be rectified. Tyres, exhausts, etc. are excluded

Albeit a Mini (BMW) I have just had the following done on a Cooper S
Rebuild timing gear and tensioner
New dual mass clutch
Respray of bonnet
Replacement of doorcards due to marks
replacement of window motor and seals due to rattle and squeek
Removal of spiders from rear light
new number plates as screws had distorted the plate

Hope that gives and idea of the scope of the warranty

Interesting - so did you know there were things wrong with some of the specfic items you mention above? For example - what made you realise that the timing gear and tensioner needed to be rebuilt?

Oh and respray of bonnet - how did you swing that?
Marks on door cards - what sorts of marks exactly? I can only envisage the dealer saying "no sir, that must have been done after"

Did you buy the car new?

Thanks

The car is for my daughter. It was purchsed under their 'Cherished' scheme.

Soon after purchase it was noticd that it sounded like a diesel on start up so some research came up with the reason and the dealer instructions so they fixed that when confronted.

Clutch started to judder so they did the whole job. clutch a nd flywheel.

Door trims had what looked like overspray that was rough to touch. They tried to fix it, damaged them, so fitted £500 worth of new leather door cards :)

Bonnet had some minor stone chips that they did not do very well pre delivery, so they fixed by a full respray.

We did so well ont he car as to be surreal. Wheels kerbed so they put 4 new alloys and brand new tyres on. 2 years free parts and labout service. 3 years warranty, etc.

We paid a deposit 10 days before it was even received by the dealer it was such a good deal.

WOW - sounds like you got a mega deal there - never heard of dealers being so generous! :)

Thanks for advice, will take that onboard when I contact the $tealer to have my bits sorted

Sounds like a rear spring has snapped - I had the same, just outside of my warranty though :(

top probably needs adjusting - dealer did my drivers side before I picked the car up :D

wont work with the top down :poke:

I have had a new clutch and new radio under the Approved used warranty :D

So far on my Coupe I have had a rear screen replaced as 2 heater elements didn't work and 2 rear wheels replaced (because of corrosion) under warranty.

I too used to own MINI's and I had one in the first year of production. It went back so many times for warranty work in the first 7 months, I complained to BMM/MINI about it direct and they they sent me a an apology Email and told the dealer to order me a new MINI!! I spec'd it up better than the one I had and I got it built. When it came into the dealers I just took the MINI I had down and just swapped it. No cost!!
