Good to know that the UK police force remains ever alert and 'vigilant'. :headbang:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/8255204/Police-officers-put-wrong-fuel-in-cars-hundreds-of-times-despite-in-built-alert-in-petrol-caps.html

'The new petrol caps are bright yellow to draw attention to the act of refuelling and light triggers the playing of a recorded warning when the flap is opened which announces: "This is a diesel vehicle."

But despite the extra precaution 110 diesel police cars were filled up with petrol in the following two years. '

How can we trust these jokers to make the right decisions the rest of the time if they can't correctly fuel a vehicle, that's the worrying thing?

"332 times in the last seven years"

Is that really so bad considering the number of times they must fill up?

I'm and sure they must be better then the national stats.... which would atleast show they have more intelligence then the average motorist on the street!

Overworked, underpaid, constantly having cameras in their faces waiting for them to make the smallest mistake so it can be blown out of proportion.... I'm sure when you use a fleet of different cars it could be easy to put the incorrect fuel in?

But then again, it proves that the "in-built alert in petrol caps" don't work....

Overworked, underpaid,

Absolute nonsense, pay is good, terms are good, pension is fantastic (and I know a few people in the police).... whatever you think of their intelligence at filling up with petrol / diesel, don't give me the underpaid rubbish
