UK: Anyone keep personal protection in their car?

Nice guns!!

on weekends i often get my hands on some good toys. wouldnt fit on a zed unless i could mount them to the roll hoops ( :| off to the shed to start cutting!) L85A2 (SA80), L86A2 LSW, GPMG's etc.

American laws are wierd when it comes to guns, some good, some bad but as you have kind of said and my grandad used to say 'id rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6'
 
Alot of macho BS in this thread!

Doubt anyone can truely comment until it happens, people think differently when on the spot and the adrenaline is pumping.

Hi Rudd,

it wasn't in Newcastle. Never had any bother whatsoever in the toon. More often than not, the folks in my estate up Newcastle have never seen a Z before and all I get is compliments.

This was just of Penn road in Wolverhampton. Glad your brother was ok, scum mate.. pure scum :x
 
so what is ur weapon of choice for protection after the lengthy discussion? :P

i reckon if it comes to it survival instinct would cut in but until then you would be much better speeding off as you did.

did u ring the police? would have been good to have had them clocked on cctv and dealt with, probably just get a slap on the wrists mind.

I have a breaker bar at home and have just ordered a 4D Maglite.

I am going to keep the Maglite in the car (in the cargo net of the passenger footwell). The breaker bar stays at home.

car keys stay downstairs where anyone breaking in will find them quickly. I don't want burglars coming upstairs when we're asleep. they can have the car

They'd actually get a lot further than just a few meters... once the car has been started the keyfob can go out of range for an unlimited amount of time, until the engine is stopped... and only then won't it start again.
 
anything you have for personal protection can be grabbed off you and used against you

a pen can be a dangerous tool

Didn't say it would stop, but they would get fed up of the warning alarm and think something was up with it! :wink:
 
I don't know what I'd do.I'd make it up as I went along.My immediate thoughts would be to protect my car and I'd be prepared to take some hits in order to get some of my own in.I played rugby for 25 years and most saturdays ended up getting whacked about,but I always gave it back. I've worked in the car finance business for 20 years and have had to repo many cars from folk who don't want you to have them.They all try to intimidate you 1st,then when they realise you are not going to budge let you have it. I once had to repo a brand new shogun from a dodgy car dealership,as I was demanding the keyeys and documents from the crooked garage owner I was surrounded by 3 mechanics with rather large spanners in their hands.I made eye contact with all 3 and interestingly all 3 didn't engage me back.I knew then that they didn't really want any aggro.It was getting a bit nasty with the boss going eyeball to eyeball with me,yelling threats etc, trying to get me to backdown ( I didn't) and just as he was getting to the point of either handing over the stuff or assaulting me,plod arrived.Someone had seen what was going on and made the call. Afterwards I was so buzzed up on adreneline that I'd have loved to had a swing at the tw*t,he sooooo deserved it.I got the car though........ :D
