Tyreweld question, newbie.

Having read the various threads, I'm now deciding on Tyreweld as my back up plan for the non-run-flats on the car (that I pick up tomorrow :D ) . Have seen members saying they have two cans, but as they come in three sizes at Halfords (300, 400 & 500), which size and would you put both in at the same time?

Having read an Autoexpress group test from 2011, am also plumping for the Ring RAC630 compressor at around £20-30 (although there is a new 640 which is the other option).

Am I also correct in assuming that if I have a flat, that the compressor is the first line to get you home, then only use the Tyreweld as the last resort? And is Tyreweld nowadays still something that the tyre shop will get funny about?

What to use depends on your luck, if it's a fast puncture use the goo straight away, or you might get away with a top-up if it's a slow puncture on a short journey and you make stops to check.
Some tyre places apparently say you cannot repair a tyre once it's had the goo but I've had one done it's probably just that they don't like the mess, or maybe it's an excuse to sell a tyre?
Having said that there are limits on repairing punctures on or near the side-wall or over certain sizes.

Went through the same deliberations in regards the tyreweld can size and compressor. I also went for the Ring 630 and a 500 ml can. Whether it's a significant puncture or a slow, your tyre pressure monitor system will flag it up. If you can't inflate using the compressor alone then its probably a significant puncture and tyreweld will be needed. If it does inflate then check some minutes later to establish the leakage rate and then take a view.
As for whether the tyre is fit for further use, then I'm afraid I can't offer any suggestions other than those already made by Ewazix which are more than likely entirely correct

Thanks, picked up 1x500ml can and ordered the RAC630 for £23. Reading around elsewhere away from here, it does appear that it simply washes out.
