Tyres

Personally, I'd not have any issues with either of Michelin Pilot Supersports, Continental SportContact 6, or Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 3.

The Vredestein Ultrac Vorti is supposed to be a good option, and the Hankook S1 Evo 2 beat the Supersport, SportContact 5 and F1 Asymmetric 2 in last year's AutoBild ultra performance tyre test.

My preference in the Supersports though - and haven't changed/tried the others as there's no clear difference/benefit in doing so.
 
Over the past 6 months I have put Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetrics all round on mine. They have transformed the car. Feels much more planted, absorb the bumps a lot better and certainly no complaints re grip!
 
Looking in this months Evo it looks like the Pirelli Supersports are being replaced by the Pilot Sport 4 http://www.michelin.co.uk/tyres/michelin-pilot-sport-4 however, I can't believe this is correct? The tread pattern of the sport4 doesn't look as dry performance orientated as the PSS? http://www.michelin.co.uk/tyres/michelin-pilot-super-sport
 
Just moved from Pirelli P Zero to Michelin PSS. Definitely a noticeable difference in performance, PSS gets my vote.
 
Goodyear asymmetric 2s, they feel like a softer compound and very grippy, excellent in the wet, feel very confident

I think Evo have got that wrong, if you go to michelins webpage http://www.michelin.co.uk/tyres/car-tyres#type=type_1 it shows their full line up. The Pilot Sport 3 is gone and replaced by the 4, the Super Sport is still there.

I'm on Super Sports and will replace them with exactly the same when they need to be changed. Great grip and great tyre life.
 
Im on PSS at the moment and have got Goodyears on my 18"s I would say the goodyears have more grip but they definitely
wear quicker than the PSS, but both are great tyres and definitely worth the extra pennies over V reds which I have had as well
 
A few years ago I ran a Mondeo 2.2d on Pirelli P Zero Neros and I was very impressed with the wet weather and dry warm weather grip compared to the previous Contis, I did notice though that in cold weather the tyres hardened up considerably.

Any other differences between the F1's and the PSS's apart from wear? Noise, ride,..?

Don't know if anyone has had chance to try the new F1 Asymmetric 3 yet, but they're supposed to be better than the F1A-2.

No I havent noticed and differences in the ride or noise between the Goodyears or PSS

I have the Asymmetric 3's but came from RFT's so can't comment. It would be interesting to know if there's any difference.
 
Hopefully the F1A3 will have a bit more longevity than the F1A2, but by the time I need a new set the Michelin SuperSport 2 will be out (end of 2016 supposedly).

As mine will becoming a weekend car (got the Alfa for the daily now), I might even be tempted to try the Michelin SportCup2 and make my suspension settings a bit less road-focussed :P
