Tyres worn on inside

Just put non-RFTs on today, although not fitted the wheels back yet. The RFTs still have loads of tread on them, so will go on EBay. I noticed the inside edges, both front and rear, are more worn than the outside - is this normal with the E85 set-up, or is my tracking/camber likely to be out?
 
That's normal, you have to keep a close eye on the inners. I thought mine were on the limit, the fitter showed me canvas :o

Same here, front were totally shot. The tramlining was horrendous but I thought they were Ok.

The sobering thought was I'd just been doing 80mph on the M6 :cry:

Ha! I've been meaning to change to non-RFTs for a while, but have been too tight to lay out for new tyres when I still had loads of tread left. What pushed me was a puncture to a rear, which I drove on COMPLETELY FLAT for at least a couple of hundred miles. I didn't feel any vibration, and the flat tyre indicator did not come on. I only spotted it when I checked the pressure, as I couldn't work out what the rhythmic noise was.

For the previous couple of weeks I'd felt the tyres for embedded stones, looked to see if anything was catching the bodywork, even took the new brake disk off to see if it was not seated properly. What a prat! :headbang:

I guess you'd have to credit the RFTs.
 
If you have never had it done it'd be worth getting a 4 wheel alignment... Though as said, the tyres do wear more on the insides. Interestingly mine have worn less unevenly since sorting the alignment.
 
I have 4 wheel alignment done and mine are going more on the inside edge than outer.
If I fix it to perfect even wear the car's not as nice to drive :(

I agree. Had it all done when I changed mine earlier this year.

I'd rather enjoy the car and cough for tyres slightly more often.
 
As said, a normal set up tends to wear the inner edges of the tyres, certainly the rears in my experiance. :thumbsup:
 
Just changed my falken 452s for a set of Vreds, i'd been checking the tire wear for a while as i've had the set on for 18k and was amazed how they were holding up, but .......i was looking & feeling from the outside in :oops: ! I had a look from under the rear of the car to find both my rears we slicks on hte inside 100mm, so checked the fronts and was the same. I would of thought the spirited driving would of worn the outsides more.

Vreds feel alot softer, i dont think these are going to last for 18k! :driving:
