Tyres sizes for 18" Ellipsoid wheels

Hi all,

Just a quick bit of info required.

I'm looking at costs involved in changing over to non RFT's but wanted to make sure i'm looking at the correct sizes.
Currently fitted on the fronts are 225/40/18 and on the rear are 255/35/18.
Are the sizes that I should be looking at for non RFT's and can anyone reccomend brands/suppliers.

One last thing, is it poss to change for example rears then change fronts later or do they really need to be done all at once?

Thanks in advance...

Your username is genius!

Yep, that's the correct sizes for those wheels. Best doing a search on here for tyre recommendations, very much a personal thing and it's been discussed a lot before (and will be discussed again). Falken FK452, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics or Michelins seem to be the most common though - depends how deep your pockets are...

Suppliers: Black Circles, Mytyres, Camskill, Tyre Traders, etc - but if you get a quote, then try your local places, some will try and price match.

Oh, and it's not recommended to have RFTs on one axle and non-RFTs on the other - the reasons why have been discussed before but I can't remember them lol. Best searching again for that.

Falken FK452 are the cheaper end, but far from a 'cheap tyre', F1 Asymmetrics are the mid range on price, and Michelin PS2's are the higher end on price...

All will perform about the same on the road I'd imagine, but obviously there will be feel/wear differences.

I'm loving my FK452's so far, but will probably try F1 Asymmetric next, just because I can :)
