Tyres in Australia?

So I finally need new tyres, only done 36,000km over 5+ years and my local tyre place has no idea what tyres to get for the rears. (no they aren't runflats, buddy)

The oem tyres don't have a Y rating on them, which makes it tricky for me to find something suitable (I admit I don't know much about tyres)

I do like the handling of the OEM tyres and don't really want to change the way the car currently handles by swapping to something different. Problem is they are continentals and don't have a model number /name that correlates with anything on the market.

Go to a better tyre place, or order online and get them fitted locally - although I can't help with online dealers in your part of the world.

Standard ones should be Continental SportContact M3 and they were Y-rated - maybe they're so 'old tech' that they're not made anymore - but you can use anything you want.

Michelin Pilot SuperSport, Goodyear F1A-2/F1A-3, and Continental SportContact 5/6 are available in our sizes/speed ratings - and I use the Supersports for my daily & track day tyre.

Other options are Vredestein Vorti, Hankook S1 Evo 2 K117, Dunlop SportMaxx, Yokohama Advan Sport V105+, etc.

All of them are suitable.
