Tyres and insurance

Hello all, just bought an '06 2,5 si roadster..has anyone had any issues with insurance when they've ditched the run-flats and put on "normal" tyres?

Ok ta.. I've emailed the ins. co. anyway,rather do that than find out out the policy is no good if I ever need to use it...I'll see what they come back with....this looks a fairly friendly forum ..hopefully I'll learn a few things here

It's like the other car forums then..you read all the issues people have had and then sit waiting for your motor to drop to pieces underneath you..

Never heard off it being an issue on an BMW or Mini, even for those that have been unfortunate enough to have to make a claim.

Anyway hasn't yours already grow into a 20i from a 18i. Keep feeding it what ever your feeding it and it will be a 6 pot 35is in no time!!!

Good point most people wouldn't and it must be common as muck on BMW's and Mini's. Not for the reasons of comfort etc folks fit normal tyres to zeds. Simply just because they are much cheaper than the equivalent runflat tyre.

Just in case anyone is wondering runflats normally have the letters RSC in a circle on the sidewall

Now don't be coy Mr Bear, now you've had that remapped and considering the weight difference of your 4 pot and manual box over the 6 pot dual clutch you must be scaring the 35is brigade!
What did they manage to get out of it?

Especially with all the low down torque it will have. Looks like its got the 28i licked as well, at least in standard form. Probably does go to show the 18i and 20i really are just detuned versions of the 28i.
