Tyres again

The Bridgestone run flats have got to go! Car is ok on smooth roads but not so good on country lanes where I spend most of my time.
Have found some Avon zz5 tyres £108 for back set 255 35 18 and about £92 for front 225 40 18. Any body got any thoughts on these? My alternative is the Vredestein at £126 for back set and about £93 front.

I have Avon ZZ5's on my M Coup with 19" CSL's. Handles very well, wet and dry, very low road noise compared to my Falken 452's (albeit they were on my vRS!) and seem to be lasting well...

Had the Falkens on a Mondeo ST and they were pretty good. Wanted something with a bit more rim protection though for when the other half drives the car!
Was going to get the tyres from Lovetyres but the price for the rears just gone up to £125!
So still undecided which way to go Vredestein or Avon.

Presumably at those prices these are not new tyres?

Brand new tyres plus about £10 for delivery + fitting costs. Checkout tyremen. £93 front and £126 rear for Vredestein + £17 fitting costs. Tempted to go with this

I use this site a bit...

Pretty good reviews IMO.

Good prices - where is that from? When I last bought tyres for my 535D I found a good price on-line which was then matched by my local Selectatyre - except I didn't have to pay postage, and fitting was £7.50 per wheel.

www.tyremen.co.uk for the Vredesteins. The tyres are then sent to a local garage for fitting at £17.50 a corner. Prefer the £7.50 price though! Where do you live!!
Thought about asking the local garages if they can match the prices first.
Other option is the ZZ5 from Lovetyres and get them fitted locally. Looked on tyrereviews and both have good ratings.

Vreds on the 535, pretty pleased with them. Like you, have runs-flats on the zed and hate them. Downright dangerous on a wet country road, skipping white lines.

Too much tread left to ditch them, but may see if I can get a couple of hundred for them on EBay and go for some proper tyres!

Had the same thoughts. Tyres too good to change loads of tread left but cant stand the way the car drives with them on. Car just seems to bounce all over the road. Had it serviced by a local garage recently and the mechanic thought there was something badly wrong with the suspension until I told him it was on run flats! Anyone want a cheap set of run flats in a few weeks :D
