Tyres Again,

Hi All
I know, tyres have been done to death, however one question I can't find an up-to-date answer to while searching.
I have a Si Sport Coupe with fresh Bilstein B4s and new standard Suplex springs. I'm running on standard 18in MV2 at present with standard 255:35 on the back and
225:40 on the front. I need to replace all 4 tyres so I am considering going to 245:40 and 215:45. The problem is the 215s are more limited and expensive, so can anyone who may have done this on a Coupe tell me the difference doing this made, and what tyres they used

Thanks.

I guess your trying to go taller side wall?
I’d drop to 17 inch if you want to up the comfort
or go 235 and 265 on 18s
Also choose comfort tyres not UHP

I know mine is a different model but when I got new tyres I went up a profile on the rear for a bit more comfort. In retrospect I think I should have got more tyre wall by getting a wider tyre - that would also give the rim a bit more protection from kerbs!

Done the same a few times on stock 8j 8.5j , no downsides whatsoever unless the car is particularly low ( as in dropped )
comfort increases & the arch gap decreases , t just be wary the speedo reads more accurate .

Thanks for all the comments, and from what Mr Wikes has said I think it would certainly suit the way I use the car. These days I like to use this car as a GT in the true sense, so this will be welcome.
