I've used SHIPLEY a number of times.
You just state what the item is and where it is going from and too and couriers bid to transport it. Just sit back and wait for the bidders to undercut each other. You can except any bid or none.
I had 4 alloys transported from Surrey to Somerset for £50.

I had a good experience recently with Paisley Freight. I shipped 4 x 18" wheels and tyres for £32 which seemed very reasonable. I think they subcontract mainly to City Link who I've also had good dealings with.

Try direct courier solutions, they will give you insurance for up to £1000 for £7.50 extra.

Try Interparcel. They use all the main couriers and can get very competitive prices. (Cheaper than the rate i can get as an employee!)

As an example. An item @ 30kg. 50cm X 50cm X 30cm. £7.50 on a 48hr service. £11 on a next day service.

I wouldnt use Paisley again rude Scottish guys

Please don't stereotype Paisley with the rest of Scotland. You are correct though manner on the phone meant I went elsewhere.

I wasn't trying to, but they seem like a small 2 man band in Scotland and are very rude! They didn't care when city link damaged my wheels (as seen in general discussion) I will not be using them again!

I'll look on the above company and see what their prices are like!! Thanks

Collectmyparcel.com

Cost me £23 to ship four tyres to central london from the north west. The key to keeping the costs down is to send two tyres as one package. I just bought a roll of cling film and wrapped them together. I have used them twice now and its been as painless an experiences as you could hope for.

Most are brokers arent they, who do they use as a courier? I just think city link have let themselves down lately!

Thing is you have to get insurance and you must check the goods before signing to accept. Also ensure you have proof of condition before sending.

With interparcel you can choose which courier they use.

p4d.co.uk is a great company. They use other courriers but I have always been happy with them. Join up and delivery is about £8 per wheel
