Tyre Weld & Compressor

Hi Guys,

I've recently noticed the inside of my front tyres are worn down to the limit (outsides are perfect, I think due to negative camber as a result of not driving one wheel on, one wheel off on the bloomin sleeping poilicemen where I live... :( ), so I've decided to change all my tyres to what seems like the highly rated Falken FK452s as 4 of these are the same cost as 2 run flats and ride better.

My questions are...can anybody reccomend:

a tyre compressor & weld (I was assuming something like Holts tyre weld would do the trick, but thought I'd check).
a place to purchase a spacesaver for longer journeys?

Many Thanks

I'm in the same situation - just switched over to Falkens. I bought...

Holt's Tyre Weld (£6.74)

Ring Automotive RAC630 12v Digital Air Compressor with LED Light (£19.29)

Compressor is really good. Hopefully I'll never have to find out if the tyre weld works or not :D

Here's a really good thread with more info about space savers...

Whats this about policemen?

Loads where I live, and I keep getting tyres wear unevenly. Do the sleeping policemen knock the wheels out of alignment somehow? Is there a way to minimise this?

i have holts tyre weld.. which i picked up for £3 each from Tesco... and a tyre compressor again from Tesco for £8!

Hopefully will never need to use them... but the compressor was handy pumping up the tyres on my nieces new bike!

I also have a can of Holts in the boot for my non RFT's, but why do i need a compressor aswell, i thought that the expanding foam from the Holts acted as inflating the tyre?

Sleeping policemen wont cause un-even tyre wear, this has been discussed recently and you'll find your wheel alignment is out. My front tyres went the same way.

I have a spacesaver from a Jag for long journeys, and a conti tyre inflator with a thing of glue. It's from a Focus ST as they come standard with them. New they are about £130 but there is a reason for that, as they are very good! eBay they are about £30 or just over
