Tyre Wear

When I bought my Z4 the tyres appeared to be new all round, though I didn't measure them at the time so I could be wrong.

I have just measured them and the fronts appear to have worn more than the rears. I would have expected it the other way around. what is others experience?

My measurements (inside to outside edge)

Rear right: 7.24mm 6.84mm 7.38mm 5.65mm
Rear left: 7.03mm 7.68mm, 7.31mm 5.66mm
Front right: 5.93mm, 5.96mm, 5.26mm, 4.58mm
Front Left: 5.37mm, 5.74mm, 5.51mm 4.62mm

The rears wear faster, that's a given on a rear wheel drive car.

So they weren't new. Simples. :wink:

Unless your tyre pressures are way out.

Yup as above. I get through at least two sets of rears to a set of fronts.

Although your fronts are wearing on the inner edges which could be lollipops or alignment. The rears do always wear on the inner edges due to the suspension setup.
