Tyre Size

Just a quick question.

My tyre sizes are smaller at the back than the front.

225/40/R18 FRONT
225/35/R18 BACK

Who has bigger at front and smaller at back?
OR
Who has bigger at back and smaller at front?

You've got the wrong rears somehow.

Even winter tyres would only be the same rears as front.

Your rears should be 255/35 not 225/35.

can someone tell me please why you have diff size tyres front and rear im a newbee cheers
Staggered wheels/tyres are for both looks & performance.

A wider rear tyre gives a bit more grip, and the lower profile (to keep the overall diameter the same) reduces flex in the sidewall.

You can put a very wide tyre on and create less oversteer / more understeer (assuming no geometry changes), or vice versa.

This. And the tyres are different sizes because the wheels themselves are different sizes... But not all Zs have a staggered set up, I could be wrong but I think it was just the 3.0i prefacelift, and the Sport facelift models that had staggered as standard ? Of course the original buyer may have been able to spec staggered wheels... I think I just confused myself a bit

Kane - as above, wrong size tyres... Do the rears look stretched ? Your sig says you have 19 inch wheels which is wrong, right ? Thought you had MV2s...

Non-runflats will be the same size, it's choice of brand that you need to make. Forum favourites are Vredsteins, Falken 453s and Michelin PS3s. Loads of threads on this topic if you search.

Introduce yourself in the newbies section with some pics too, we're a really friendly & helpful bunch

Only facelift sport and M cars had staggered setup as standard. Pre facelift and 3.0si SE were 17" rims standard, square setup
