The right way to find out whether a wide tire fits on the narrower wheels is to email customer service of the tire manufacturer.

I'm not that hot about staggered setups (rear wider than front). I would fit wider all around, which requires finding out what the front can fit without or with acceptable rubbing.

The 103s are 8'' wide all round and a set up of 225/45/17 fronts and 245/40/17 rears is fine on that size rim.

Splendid ! I'll keep a note of the size, when funds are available i will get some more forgiving rubber for the wheels.
