Tyre rubbing - Track Day

I have 19 inch wheels on my coupe.

Looking to do a track day but they rub under heavy compression.

Changed the tyre down to a 35 and its still happening.

What are peoples suggestions? I assume the track day is a no go unless I want to destroy my car or buy new wheels :driving:

1. Buy track wheels and tyres - if you got space to store them, it gives you the option of getting some track focused tyres
2. Change suspension - if it is on original it might be time for a refresh anyway depending on miles
3. Run it as it is and monitor it - but that might ruin your track day if you have to nurse it round

Okay mate, think wheels and tyres are the best option.

Brakes are fairly new and have brembo pads and fluid
 
have you gone more aggressive with offsets/spacers?

OE fronts would have been 225/40r18, so the equivalent 19" (to keep the same diameter/circumference) is the 225/35r19 you've got - and the 225/40r19 you did have on was 12mm taller than the OE wheel/tyre combo - not surprised there was rubbing!

OE rears would have been 255/35r18, so the equivalent 19" would be a 255/30r19 - so you've got a bit of extra sidewall on those rears you've got fitted, so may blunt acceleration a little, and knock out your speedo a little (might actually make it more accurate), and may give you a bit of rubbing also if the offsets are too wild.

Other than offsets and tyre sizes it can only be tired springs/suspension/bushes causing it.
