Being the sport model, it calls for (and has)
225/40 R18 - front
255/35 R18 - rear

Generally speaking, I'm a diehard Michelin guy, always found them to be the smoothest/quietest ride. I have Michelins for all my cars (summer and winter sets)

But I know this car is different, rides different, handles different, etc.
Presently, it has Continental ExtremeContact Sport's that came with it - and they are past their prime.
I need to find my baby a new set of slippers.

What Brand/Model do y'all use/recommend?

Contacts came 1st for auto express so I would stay where you are :D

I'm an Avon man myself. Have them on my focus and the rear of the Z. As soon as the landsails wear our on the front I'll get Avons on the front as well.

PS4S’s For me, if you’re on smaller then 19”s then PS4’s.

Can’t go wrong, I have tried many over the years and these are hand down the best.

EDIT -
Disregard that question:
"sorry for the silly question, but what is 'Auto Express'?"

I realized you provided a link and will read that review - thanks

I am leaning towards the Michilen Pilot Sport 4s’s
They seam to top most reviews

Eagle F1's or MPS4.

I have had both. Much the same grip although the Eagle F1's seem to have a softer side wall and you feel a bit of roll if you're going hell for leather round a sweeping bend where the speed limit is 50 but you're a bit over that, so I've been told!

Old Z4
I've had Bridgestone Runflats - awful.
Original Goodyear Eagle F1's - Superb. Was like driving a new car after the original runflats.
Falken FK452 - a bit noisy but very good.

Current Z4
Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta - Almost worn out when I got the car. Decent enough but wouldn't buy them.
Goodyear Eagle F1 AS2 - See above
Michelin Pilot Sport 4. Very good and seem to be wearing well.

You pay for what you get and saving a few £££'s on tyres is never a good option as it's what's keeping you on the road!

Never skimp on tyres.

Replaced all 4 runflats on my Coupe with Yokohama ADVAN Sport V105 as couldn't afford Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and very happy with them

Let me toss this line of thinking into the discussion....

I'm not going to drive this thing on a track :driving: , or overly aggressively
Will I drive spiritedly from time to time?

Perhaps pure Performance tires (tyres) are not the way to go? :poke:
What if I were to go with more of a touring all season performance tire (tyre) like the Michelin Primacy MXM4's? :tumbleweed:

I am considering Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 2 tyres, as they have been well received, are reasonable value and have the correct sizes.

They also seem to be a decent all rounder, with good grip in the wet as well as the dry. At least from reading the magazine (Evo and Autoexpress recently) anyway.

Can only say as you find. Wet stopping distance is way better then any other mid range tyre I've tried and they hang on well and seem to be progressive in the dry as well.

I got these, admittedly on 19’s and a very good tyre... but noisier than the Michelin’s but that’s being fussy. Good tyre that... now go buy PS4s!
