Tyre question

Hi guys,
Have an 2007 2.5i and it has Potenza run flats on it all round. 225/50R16 92V
The fronts have plenty of tread left, approx 4mm or so, the rears have hit the legal limit markers. Apparently these run flats are no longer available from mainstream suppliers I’ve been told...so my question is can I mix run flats with ‘normal’ tyres?
I only use the car at weekends and like to push it into corners and roundabouts etc, try to avoid being out in the rain where possible. So I’m faced with replacing all 4 tyres which I know will give me a better ride quality etc but I’m looking at £500+ so I wondered if I could get just 2 tyres fitted and use the 2 run flats that have lots of tread left?

£500+ for 4 x 225 50 16 :o is that through Bmw :?

Get 4 of these fitted around £300 & a gunk kit , you won't be disappointed with either tyres performance :driving:

Oh wow! Thank you Mr Wilks.. :) I had only checked on mainstream retailers like kiwi fit and similar and was faced with budget unknown branded or top of the range Michelin etc... really appreciate your help & links...thank you!

Whatever you do .. don’t just replace the rears with non runflats

Don’t mix runflats and normal tyres

Have a look on oponeo and other tyre sites that’ll give you an idea of prices .. they can offer local fitting centres

Just don’t drive into kwik fit and ask for 4 tyres

I wouldn't vouch for Hankook personally. Although I haven't had experience of r the V12 evo's, I did fit a set of S1 Evo 2's to my Z4 and I wasn't overly impressed with them. They had way less grip than my Vredestein Ultrac Vorti's which replaced them. Unsure whether the V12's are better or worse in the range.

Uniroyal Rainsports have a great reputation and seem very well priced for the quality of tyre  though it's all subjective, depending on how you drive/the conditions you drive in.
