Hi guys, sorry for starting another topic on this subject but I have had a look and can't find any sure answers.
I have now got myself some new Falkons for the Z, what pressures are you using...?

225/40/18 92W (XL) ZE912 225401892WXLZE912

225/35/18 87Y FK452 225351887YFK452

Appreciate your help, Ben

Do you mean 255/35/18 for the rears? Typo?

Why have ou bought different profile for the same width?

40 profile is fine for 225 all round.

35 profile required for 255's.

Sceptre

Ben - tell me and the others that you haven't purchased the tyres as detailed??

As Sceptre points out the tyre choice relates is not compatible on the same car. If you run them as detailed you'll have one set of wheels with an effective rolling diameter bigger than the other.

Normal would be for 8.5J on the rear having 255/35/18 and 8J on the front with a 225/40/18

Ben I hate to tell you this but you've also bought two different types of tyre too, you have FK452s (which are the ones that are popular here) and ZE912 which have a different tread pattern.

Some people on here don't mind running differing tyre types but I'm not a fan, and in this instance the problem is easily solved by sending them back and getting the right ones instead. It's unfortunate that the 452s are the wrong sizes so you'll either have to change them all, or get a set of these instead -

255/35/18 94W (XL) Falken ZE912 Tyres

(You don't specifically need the XL but seeing as you have already got XL fronts (92 load index) then you should match it at the rear).

Have a quick look here http://www.falkentyres-uk.com/home.aspx I think I actually prefer the ZE912s to the FK452s anyway

Ah s**t :headbang:

I knew I shouldn't have ordered anything before waking up fully in the morning.
I have got 4x Falkon FK452's. They are not ZE912's.
They all have the same tred pattern.

I just have the differant Aspect Ratios on the same tyre width.
FK452 225/35 ZR18 87Y for the rear
FK452 225/40 ZR18 92Y for the front
Must have read the 255 incorrectly on the bridgestones.

Anybody run on different Aspect Ratios?
I'm going to hang my head in shame now :surrender:

It happens, however I cannot imagine anyone running this sort of combination.
I'd take a step back and check your rim sizes to ensure you have the wider 8.5J on the rear and 8J on the front then contact Falkon and do an exchange.

I see no way that I would want to run a taller tyre on one end of the car, especially as you note on the front.

i have found that the tyre pressure really depends on the tyre as much as the size of the tyre. These are the tyres i have tried with their sizes and pressures that i found was the best for me
