Tyre pressures

If you are on M 3.2 factory wheels and tyre sizes it should be 32psi F & R (2.2 bar) COLD, but you can adjust up and down a few psi front or rear to suit your taste and driving style, which I think is where you started :)
 
FWIW I run 33F and 36R. That's on the standard 18" 108s, Goodyear Eagle F1s and lowered on Eibachs. Wouldn't want them much lower!
 
Ok so it is worthy dropping all 4 tyres to say 30/30 or 32/30
Will lowering the pressures result in more contact area ? Or am I being a numpty
 
As your car is standard and the recommended pressures are on the door jam sticker so that's a good place to start, These are suggested as a minimum with an option to add a little to account for load or speed. Dropping below the recommended figures will soften the ride slightly and reduce side-wall stiffness so might make it feel less crisp when entering corners. You will not increase tyre contact by dropping pressures.

From your questions it sounds like you are trying to sort a problem with the way the car is driving?
 
I've been running 40F/43R on a staggered 18" setup - 225/40/255/35. I know this is a lot but at high speed (90+mph) and fast cornering it just handles better....harsh ride though. Right now I'm on 32/36 so I don't ruin the tyres too much :D
 
I'm on 19's and run the standard tyre pressures. I find the car rides much better and a few times when i've experienced a crashy ride, i've noticed the tyre pressure's are lower than they should be.

When I pump them back up, all is well again.
