Tyre Pressures

After fitting my 19" CSL reps and Falken FK452's I'm now in a flip about the tyre pressures.

BMAutosport told me they use 32psi as a starting point, I've checked them today and topped them up accurately to 32psi all round. He said that I can adjust them as I need to.

However, now I don't have any experience with aftermarket wheels, these are the first ones I've ever had, so what tyre pressures should I be aiming towards? Presumably higher than 32psi in the rears?

How will I know if it's over-inflated or under-inflated?

Cheers,

Tom

I run 18csl's with falken 452's & have 32psi fronts & 34 psi on the rears ! Car drives great !

Cibbers,

I'm having the same dilemma. I have 19" CSL wheels with ContiSports Contact 5's - I have no idea what pressure to put in them...!! If I find out I will keep you posted...

32 all round doesn't sound right to me when I use 33psi front, 36psi rears on 18" rims - there's a larger amount of force applied to the rears than the front, which implies psi should be higher

Anything below 35psi & the rear feels soggy & at 36psi tyre wear across the whole rear face is even, so thnk I got it right for mine.

For 19", I'd at least run rears @ 35psi though saw this for the new Z4 with 19" saying front should be 36psi... http://www.sizeyourtires.com/Tire-Sizes-For/2011/BMW/Z4/sDrive35i-w-Sport-Pkg--19-Inch-Option-Front/30569

Maybe u ought to just work up from 32psi & see what feels sloppy
