Tyre pressures on 19"

Hi all, hear alot about the alloys cracking! Im on bridgestone potenza. I think runflats. Whats best pressures to run to avoid this cracking?

You are about to open up a can of worms.
I doubt you will get a proper answer to this question.
The only thing I would say to avoid cracking 19s with runflats is avoid potholes.
Same could probably be said for 19s with non runflats too though.

Agreed.
Replaced my 19" RFT's to MPSS within a week of ownership and touch wood, no cracks even after hitting a few potholes over the years. :thumbsup:

By all accounts, your chances of cracked wheels seem quite high.

Have you checked to see if they're cracked already?
 
Go to a track with the intention of wearing them down on silky smooth tarmac where they won't be taking hits.

Get some decent non rft's on, by this time you've got the track bug and will want to return. You will see on track how much better the cars handling and it will all be justified! :driving: :thumbsup:

The 'theory' is that low-profile runflats + potholes cause BMW OE 19" alloys to crack.

Some argue that, because runflats give a hard ride, owners under-inflate them and it's this that contributes to the problem.

The cure-all, but ridiculously expensive solution, is obvious, of course. Don't use OE 19" wheels. However, to 'abandon your runflats' seems a viable compromise, doesn't it? They are, after all, crap tyres.
