Tyre Pressures for non run flats

Hi all. I have just replaced my "wonderful runflats"! with some continental sport contact 3's

I immediately noticed that I am experiencing understeer when entering a bend at speed, which has left me wondering if the tryre pressures should in fact be lower when using non run flats?

Can anyone offer any advice?

Welcome to the forum

With your tyre situation - normally it takes 200-300 miles for the tyres to bed in. I had the same with my Avon ZZ5s.

Tyre pressures should be the same I think.

Normally newbies post some pictures of their zed when joining the forum :poke: will we see some pictures?

Hi There,

Thanks for your rapid response, and for the welcome.

It is good to be here and I will get some pics organised over the next few days.

Thanks again and I will report back after I have done a few hundred miles. :driving:

I had a similar experience when I replaced my runflats with 235/35 & 265/30R19" Conti's. You do need to scrub the tyres in before pushing them but after some experimenting I now run 31 front 33 rear.

I'm running Falken 452's (18" wheels) and after much reading on here & a bit of experimenting out on the road I've settled on F30 R32

Thanks all, I will experiment and see what happens.

I now find myself lusting after an M roadster, particularly looking at how much they have fallen in price!!

Just to report back, 300 miles in and they have settled in nicely. The car is now a joy to drive evein if the steering is a tad too light!

I find the steering light when I don't have the sport mode on.

If you have sport mode, try a run using that, should make a difference
