tyre pressure....

had the z for 2 months now and only yesterday did i decide to check the tyre pressure while at the local Shell station. The rears were fine, they were replaced by the dealer when i bought the car, the fronts however were each at ~18Psi ! no idea why i had noticed this before.

Anyways, long story short, pumped them up to a healthy 30psi and the difference in the drive is very surprising, much more stable, less of a bone shaker ride on bad roads, hardly any tramlining, more sure footed at speed etc.

i might have to re-think my plan to get rid of the run flats because now i don't mind the ride quality at all

I encountered much the same problem. Almost didn't ditch the runflats because of the same reasons. The reason I switched was the treadwear rating sucks on the runflats although the falkens are too much better, and the cost. The falcons were way cheaper than runflats.

Dont be fooled, the run flats are still shite !......sorry but thats the only good thing i can say about them really. I absolutely detest the ride on my car due to the lower springs (first buyer selecting the lower spring option) and the run flat tyres.

In fact the other day on a completely clear motorway i had to drive in the centre lane as the inner lane caused the car to tramline like a bitch (due to the trucks always in the inner lane). I cannot wait for the day when i can change them to normal tyres. The hard ride i can sort of put up with, however the tramlining destroys the driving pleasure completely in my opinion.

Rant over, feel better, thanks.. :P

Try 36 rear and 33 front, it makes the ride a lot better. Can't believe you drove with them so far deflated, anything below 20 is like driving a Flintstones car with solid wheels.
