Tyre pressure

Im driving from Glasgow to Essex (the mother-land) in about 10 days time, and I just wanted to check and get a few opinions on the best tyre pressure for the journey. I know having a higher pressure will give me slightly better fuel economy, but will also be a slightly harsher ride... Thoughts and comments welcome :)

Hmmmm, think you should run with the correct pressures, I'm not getting the higher pressure will give better fuel consumption argument. More pressure = larger diameter, gives same speed for less revs, but loads the engine more. Lower revs = less fuel, but higher load = more fuel.

Can't see it making any significant difference either way tbh, so don't bother

....... and wear across the extended centre section rather than across the whole tread width :o

I would keep the pressures at the manufacturer stated levels. I can't see the benefit of running higher pressures. Any fuel saving will be countered with increased tyre wear IMO
