Tyre Pressure sensors no standard wheels

Hi all,

Bit of a stupid question but thought i should ask.

Fiited my new wheels yesterday ( non run flat ) as a test. Took the old ones off . with the wheel sensors.

Red light came on straight away. Pushed the button it went yellow then went off.

Question is i have driving to work this morning, 18 miles and just been out and its not come back on????

Do i need to pop to the garage tommorow and get the sensors switched liked planned or is it reset now and it wont come back on???

Sorry but just need to let the garage know what to do tommorow.

Thanks

Kieran

Your Zed is prefacelift so has No pressure sensors, don't ask me how it does it but it uses the ABS sensors and wheel rotation speed to work out if you have a flat or something like that.
But by pressing the button you have reset the system to your current configuration and should you change wheels or even blow your tyres up you should again reset the system.

Hi there,

I always thought that the TPS system worked on wheel speed comparison as opposed to having sensors on the wheels. This measures the rotational speed of the wheels and if you get a puncture that wheel will be going round faster than the others due to lack of pressure i.e diameter and thus sets the alarm off. When you replace the wheels the new diameters are all very slightly different compared to the old ones and sets the alarm off. You reset the system and it should then be fine, no sensor swapping replacing etc etc required.

I changed to non runflats and my sensor went off having done 400 miles on the new tyres. Did the reset and hasn't been on since (2500 miles later).

Cheers
