Tyre pressure button

Hey all,

quick question. I went to the gas station and tried to check the air of the tyres. Both the front tyres were 1,7 and 1,6 bar from 2.0 that they should be. (2.0 was the last measurment I did). I wonder why the tyre pressure button didnt work. Shouldn't have showed smthing?

Moreover the guy at the gas station spilled gas on the side (rinsed it with water and cleaned it withtissue mysellf). Anything else I can do?

Sry for my bad english

If all the tyres drop pressure together then the system won't trigger. It really only works with sudden loss, or if one is going down.

Petrol on the paint won't hurt, but it will have stripped any protection you had so you need to wax/seal again.

As above that monitor doesn't actually warn you about low pressures, just sudden changes in any of them. You could in theory put 1 bar in all then reset the system and it wouldn't trigger. It uses the ABS sensors to detect a relative change in wheel rotation speed compared to the other tyres. This happens when air is lost through a puncture as the rolling radius changes with less air in the tyre. In other words it's a puncture warning system rather than a tyre pressure monitor.
