Tyre light, TC and handbrake lights on

As title says.

First the flat tyre light came on, oh no. Pull over and the tyres are all fine (i have NON-runflats) I get back in and the handbrake light is on YELLOW. and also the TC warning triangle is on. All remain on now.

Last week i had new front wishbone bushes fitted and im wondering if this could be related. Is there a sensor they could have knocked whilst fitting them or something? Bit confused as the TC light/handbrake wouldn't have anything to do with the front wheels would it?

Im going back to the garage tomorrow and they say they will run a diagnostic. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas... :(

Sounds like a faulty (or unplugged) ABS sensor. It's a cable that runs to the caliper and provides information for the tyre light + traction control. I had exactly the same symptoms on a MINI by damaging the cable with a set of snow chains.

Did you manage to sort out the traction control light.

I have the same problem and don't know what to do

Please help

i had the same problem with my TC light, and given it was out of warranty reluctant to pay 150euro an hour to diagnose it. Browsing around on the web i found similar problems with other BMWs and a possible fix:

Sounds unlikely but this worked for me

Start car, without driving turn the wheel full lock left, full lock right then drive in a straight line.. This resets some sensor, and the TC light went off, and the TC started working again... Worth a try, like i said i thought there was no chance of it working, but it sorted mine out

this happened to me when i unplugged the brake pad sensor in the front wheel arch. at the same time i unplugged the wheel speed sensor (that dos not go to the brake caliper, but a sensor in the stub axle. In my case it looks like i introduced an EMF in to the system and spiked a warning. this triggers the 3 warning lamps and they needed to be reset by the dealers.

once in the memory of the car it has to be removed and reset as a warning. so in your case it could be a wheel speed sensor ( all 4 wheels have them) and it could have been damaged by the repair (possibly) but i would have expected the fault to show immediately.
An independant with the right kit will sort this in a second (identify the faulty sensor or sensor cable)

I had the same problem last year - it was diagnosed as a faulty abs sensor on one of the wheels and fixed under warranty by BMW. Because the sensor wasn't working, the car automatically turns off the traction / stability control etc hence lighting up a number of warning lights

wow old thread, forgotten this even happened :D

To finish the story, the next day i started the car and no warning lights were present at all.

Nearly one year to the day of this first post and all still fine. :)
