Anyone taken out Tyre Insurance for their Z4?

After getting a nail in the rear tyre this week and forking out 190 quid for a replacement as the RFT are NOT repairable, I thought it might be a good idea.

Anyone sold this by their dealer at all? Do BMW do this direct to customers?

A quick google search came up with 3 years cover for £199. Up to five tyres over 3 years so after 1 tyre it would pay for itself really.

Don't suggest swapping to non rft as did this on my first z4 and would preferto keep the rft on this one.
 
RAC do a tyre warranty, it usually costs between £50 and 100, I can't find any recent prices but if you call the number I reckon you'll get it for £50. Why stick with the RFT's when normal tyres make the car much better to drive?

If and when I get another Z4 or next model of Z it'll be the first thing that's done before it even leaves the showroom.

Heard of the Tyre Insurance before. Great idea especially as the when I had 3 punctures within a week or so to deal with. Then again not had any problems after dumping the runflats. Maybe they're magnetic and atract nails!
 
Don't know if they still do it, but in the UK Toyo used to offer FREE tyre insurance. Never tried claiming on it, but when I got a set from Elite in Rainham they came with a certificate for the insurance. Bought a lot of Toyos since but never got another certificate :(

The deal was that if the tyre was 50% worn and irrepairable, for example, you would get 50% of the cost of a new one. This avoided people running their tyres down to 1mm then deliberating poking a nail through the sidewall...
 
I took out the tyre insurance the dealer offered for £250. Now pretty much saved that after receiving a nail in a 3k mile old 255/35/18 runflat.
 
I am interested in covering my tyres, but I put Goodyear Non-runflats on my 3.0... would that be likely to cause an issue i.e. repairer says these tyres are not supposed to be on there in the first place?
