TYRE INFLATOR

My rear tyre (RFT) keeps loosing air, it drops from 2.2 to around 1.9 bar. I am constantly using the petrol staions to use their air compressors and at 50p a go I am thinking that a small air compressor which I can store in the boot would be a better option. Anyone got an air compressor they can recommend?

I've got a cheapo halfrauds one. Does the job even if it makes quite a racket.

I bought the SLIME kit from amazon. It comes with SLIME to seal the leak and a small compressor. Compressor works well and is very small.

I'm surprised no-one has suggested fixing the leak :poke:
The OP said it's a run-flat and I understand that the majority of places are very reluctant to repair run-flats

That's understood, but there's still an issue with either the tyre or wheel that needs investigating.

If the tyre is not holding pressure then you may be doing more harm by running on it under-inflated - and may (in extreme circumstances) negatively impact the ability to avoid an accident.

There's plenty of people who run on run-flats and don't realise they're flat as they become used to just resetting the TPM and not checking their pressures.

You have raised valid points but as the tyre is only loosing a small amount of air I dont see it as being a serious issue. I suspect that I may have a faulty valve or worse a hairline crack in the wheel. Either way as long as I keep it infalted it should see me out (I hope) untill I replace the wheels with something nicer. :)

Could be a hair line crack out of shape wheel or deformed tyre? But like you say could just be a dodgy valve Carterton tyres are very good pop in they will help you out. And they are just off the base close to the fish and chip shop
