Call me old fashioned but I prefer a good old fashioned footpump; I've found that electric anything tends to go west on a wet, windy night in the middle of nowhere which is usually when punctures are scheduled... :wink:
The single cylinder Halfords one fits perfectly by the battery along with a can of tyre weld, transferred from the Elise and thankfully never used in anger.

I use a Ring Compressor as most others seemed to have the over centre lever valve attachment and as the valve stems on mine are very low, I could not connect that type. The Ring comp however has a screw on connection.

Digging up an old thread, but does anyone know how much trye weld you need? (I'm running 17" at the moment).

Looking at Carplan Flat Mate in comes in 300ml or 500ml but no mention of the size of tyre it fills.

Holts TyreWeld state 400ml for wheels up to 16" and 500ml for the larger wheels so I would suggest you go for 500ml.

Does anyone have a solution for storage for those of us with a Carver amp? It takes up the space next to the battery. Currently I've got a compressor and a can of tyre weld rolling around in the boot, and it's a bit annoying. :-(

I've got two Castrol pouches with Velcro. One each side of the compressor holds it in place. Tyre gunk lives in one of the pouches.

A silly question maybe, but do the guys who have the tyre weld have a jack in the car as well? Or can you just inflate the tyre using the pump and then fill the tyre with weld?
