Tyre fitment question

As per my post here:

I have 103s on that are 17" x 8 square, think the current tyres are 225/45/17...

Would the dunlop 205/50/17s fit or be a bit to skinny to stretch on?

Cheers x

In my opinion a 205 is far too narrow for an 8 inch wide wheel. Apart from looking odd there would be no protection for the rim itself.
What does 8 square mean?

According to TireRack the recommend rim width for that size of tire is 5.5 to 7.5 inches...

8" on all four tyres I meant, not a staggered setup.

Thanks for your advice guys, guess i'll have to go for the budget ones instead and leave them, just thought it was worth asking :D
