Well the Yokohama's are on, and already showing a massive improvemnt over the PS2 that were on the rear and the Conti's on the front.

Plenty of feel, and massive grip levels, and thats with only 150 mile on them, so I expect them to get better as they go through a few heat cycles, and the realease compound wears off as the first few mm wear down.

Don't think these are available in the size we require.

Need to replace all 4 in the next 2-3000 miles, find nothing wrong with the Conti M3's but might give the Bridgestone RE50A's a try (non-runflat model of course). Always liked Bridgestones in the past.

I noticed the load ratings are different for the FR and RE Conti M3's, 91 front, 95 rear. Wonder if non Conti-m3 tyres should be purchased with the same load ratings?

One or two ratings higher won't make any difference (e.g. a 91 to 93 or 95), but a 91 to a 101XL one will - and usually only at high speeds (load index is not how much it can carry, but the load it can manage at the max speed of the tyre for x minutes).

btw.. this is an /M thread, I wouldn't go with the Falkens on the /M.


Only probs with the Vreds are they're pants offroad :thumbsdown:

Vreds get my vote, been very impressed with the grip and ride on mine. Had PS2's before and think these are comparable. Good price too if you can find them in stock somewhere

Vreds for me as well, didnt want to fork out for PS2's all round again so opted for these and very impressed so far.

£560 for four with fitting, bargain!

iv'e put falkens on my ///m and had no issues with them,in fact i think they are a better ride than the oem conti's.saying that,i don't drive on the ragged edge so i think they are a more than competent tyre for my driving style.

great to read the debate on tyre choice.
I currently have Mitch pilot sport cups as always wanted to see if they are as good as the say! and yes they are totally amazing but at £1200 a set they need to be.
I am after a replacment set and i am not prepered to spend that sort of money again so i am looking at getting the VREDESTEIN ULTRAC SESSANTA.

I can find the 235/35/19 for the fronts but cannot find 265/35/19 for the rears. Can only find 175/35/19! Will these fit CSL rims and not rub on the rear.
Sorry for the bone question but i guess thats what we do on the forum.
Your help is very much appreciated.

Running 275/35-18 on OEM rims on the rear without any rubbing, even under full suspension compression (Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec, which tend to run a bit wider than nominal size, they actually measure about 295mm sidewall to sidewall). You would probably want to use 275/30-19 on the rear. Also using 245/40-18 without any rubbing on the front.

I'm not sure if the above is a typo but you should be trying to get 265/30/19's, maybe that's why you can't find the size you are quoting.
On the subject of 275/30/19's, I personally wouldn't have them as I found they ruined the handling on the car. Mine got taken off and sold within a couple of hundred miles.

Apoligies, I meant 275/30/19??

Thanks for the advice. I think i will give them a try but have not strayed from Michilins on any of my BMW'S before. Still like PS2's but a change will be good.
