Tyre choice time. Current favourites?

With 2 small nails in one tyre! Time to change. Annoying as at least 1,000+ miles left. Hey-ho!

I have normally fitted pilot sport P2’s in the past, but wondered what everyone’s current preferred choice is.

Cheers!

Vredesteins . . ist time for me & like em a lot , very grippy ,soft ride & quiet , , not arsed about wear as only doing small miles per year :)

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta here. Came pretty low down in a recent tyre test, but seem a lot better than the OEM Bridgestones IMHO.

Are Yoko Advan AD08s available in the appropriate sizes? They're *very* grippy.

the sessantas are on my rears but i went for the ultrac centro http://www.vredestein.com/car-tyres/summer/ultrac-cento/info/
on the fronts & will eventually switch the rears to the same .

I got these http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s3808p69425/Michelin_Tyres_Car_Michelin_PS2_Pilot_Sport_2_Michelin_PS_2_ZP_Runflat_-_255_35RF18_90W_%28%2A%29_RFT_TL_ for the back and the ride noise and comfort was so much better than the bridgestones that where on there originally. Ill be getting the same for the front when time come to replace the front.

pilot supersport. done. they are awesome...
I chose pilot super sport and am very pleased. Yes they are expensive compared to others but based on the fact that they are the only thing in contact with the road I want them to be the best in the eventuality that I over cook a corner or am forced into a situation by another driver they cost less than a bent car or lost life.
My previous 300,000 miles have seen me try other makes and I am a Michelin fan for life. Good grip wet and dry, feel, low noise, good wear rate.

They'd not last more thn 5000 miles if they were available.

I'm having lots of fun with my SuperSports - about 20,000 miles of it so far on my first set.

Contisport contact 3s (not M3s) were the best balance of price/performance when i had mine done. They are amazing in the wet. The PSS are slightly better in the dry but were another £80-£90 a corner at the time.

The rears are now only about £20 more expensive (£210 vs £190), although the fronts are about £60 more expensive (£200 vs £140) (at Camskill prices).

What sizes are people going for on the stock M wheels, I need a couple of rears soon and would be nice to upgrade from the dated Contisport M3 but I cannot see the right fitment size in the new conti wonder tyres.

Michelin PSS's would be nice but OCD cannot allow conti's up front and michelins on the back

There's as much difference between a SportContact 5 and your SportContact M3 as there is between a SportContact M3 and a £30 Linglong Yungfook, so your OCD should also be stopping you considering a completely different Continental tyre on the back.
