Tyre Bleb

While filling Mrs K’s car today, I looked down during the boring time to see an small egg sized bulge on the rear tyre - it still has 5mm of tread but it is now in the skip and my wallet is £194 lighter! (Bridgestone runflat)

The car had an MOT two weeks ago and nothing was reported - there must have been a pothole when her ladyship was driving I reckon.

Here’s me thinking that the Runflats side walls were so rigid to be almost bomb proof!

:( Took a wack at 10 mph in my little Mazda2 yesterday. I'm half expectng a similar out come, but no sign yet, of he dreaded egg. :dance2: Won't be £194 that is for sure.

I’m very careful about kerbs etc but some potholes are horrendous !
Just grin a bare it I suppose and cough up the £’s

I see this, all the time with runflats. They really are the spawn of the devil!

I honestly thought that due to the almost solid side wall that they would be immune from damage. How wrong I am.
I never do kerbs so it has to be a pothole.

If the 335 had been poor on runflats I would have dumped the other three but apart from the bleb I have no complaints.

The tyre fitter told me how much he likes fitting runflats

Well I suppose the only positive thing is the rim didn't get damaged!

Without a doubt - they are 19" wheels as well so the BMW replacement won't be cheap.
I don't know how or when it happened, I'm blaming her tho!

Sounds fair - if you had done it you would know when it happened.
